For the first time since my final semester in college way back in the '90s, back-to-school supplies mean something to me. Jane starts kindergarten in a month. Hold me.
I am a 30-something who loves life, who is passionate about my family, friends, dogs, theater, writing, reading, pop culture and hearing other people's stories. I think laughing is about the best thing in the world, and I would love to either live a) at the beach or b) in a bookstore. Maybe a bookstore at the beach? I'm a tomboy who loves glitter, I think caffeine is a gift from heaven, and love the fact that my daughter is as sassy as she is, even though her drama queen tendencies often remind me of her mother. What?

Lia starts kindergarten next month too. But what are you getting for supplies? What do they really need? Trapper keepers?
must-have schools supplies for a five-year old:
1) scissors with a fine point & super sharp blades
2) staple gun (preferably one that is air-powered)
3) industrial-size amounts of some sort of acrylic resin (i like Super Glue, but there are tons of options)
4) a large bottle of alcohol for sterilization purposes. you know, like a 4.5 liter bottle of grey goose vodka.

1- How do I "LIKE" The Train's comment on this blog. It's the best thing ever and I literally laughed out loud.
2- Pretttty sure she won't need a college-ruled notebook just yet. First grade, maybe.
